In Symantec Management Platform 7.1, various errors occur if the IE settings prevent the ActiveX control from running. Errors may occur with shared schedules and pop-up dialog boxes, for example. This is by design.
One such error occurs when you perform the following actions:
- You click Settings > All Settings > Notification Server > Task Settings > Update Summary Data.
- You then click New Schedule and check the Schedule checkbox.
- You click Share Schedule from the drop-down menu and click the New/Edit button. At this point, the pop-up dialog should appear, but it is blank.
To prevent these types of errors, you must be able to install (or be prompted to install) ActiveX objects. The best and easiest way to do this is to add your Notification Server to the zone of the trusted site (or sites). This zone prompts for ActiveX installations by default.
If you do not want to add the NS web server to your trusted site or sites, you must ensure that ActiveX controls are allowed in the zone that your NS is in.
If the NS web site is in the Trusted Sites Zone, you will be able to edit and create shared schedules from the Jobs/Tasks page. If the site is not trusted, then the error is thrown.
