After the installation of Carbon Copy Solution 6.2, multiple items (such as Carbon Copy Configuration folder and other like items) are missing in the Altiris Console view. What can be done to quickly resolve this and restore these items?
All Carbon Copy items as well as database entry information is stored in the CarbonCopySolution.config file. Within this file are called multiple .config files which will be responsible for creation of all Carbon Copy items in the Altiris Console as well as the database table and item creation. This is done as part of the install process. Specifically, the Notficiation Server core function "aexconfig.exe" is responsible for executing instructions in these .config files. A quick way to run this portion of the install is to run aexconfig from a command prompt. For Carbon Copy, this would be as follows:
"C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\bin>aexconfig" /configure "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Carbon Copy Solution\Config\CarbonCopySolution.config"
It is advisable to have the Altiris Console closed and the Altiris Log Viewer running in order to verify this command ran successfully.
