A review of the installation log file shows the following error: Error 1406. Could not write value to HKLM\Software\....
This error is caused by incorrect permissions on the HKLM\Software or HKLM\Software\Symantec registry key(s).

Confirm this situation by running ProcMon (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645) and in review of the log, look for "Access Denied".
