Remote Client Install The Remote Client Install feature of Symantec Ghost 7.5 and 8.x allows you to remotely install the Ghost Client to client computers from the Ghost Console.
In order to do this in Ghost 7.5, the client Windows XP computers must be members of a domain. However, since Windows XP Home Edition does not allow clients to join a domain, this feature does not work on client computers that run Windows XP Home Edition.
The Ghost 8.x Console allows you to remotely add computer to a workgroup and therefore is able to perform Remote Client Installs on Windows XP Home Edition computers as well. For more information see page 44 of the Implementation Guide.
