Ghost32 hangs when imaging a Lenovo T400 or X200 under Windows XP or Windows Vista ("Hot Imaging").
The error only occurs when the Ghost32.exe is used for "Hot Imaging" under Windows.
No matter if the switch -forcevolumesnapshot is used or the "Volume Snapshot" option is clicked, the image process will hang.
If the Ghost32 is used under Windows PE, the problem does not occur.
There are a number of possible solutions here:
1) Update the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver for Windows XP and Windows Vista at least to version 188.8.131.529.
This should usually resolve the problem.
2) Change the SATA mode in the BIOS from "AHCI" to "Compatibility".
This is only practical if the AHCI mode is not required in your environment.
3) Use a bootable media like a USB-pendrive or CD to boot into the Windows PE (see below for instructions on how to do this).
4) For Windows 7, you need to contact Technical Support to obtain the latest version of the Ghost32.exe executable that resolves this issue for this platform.

Create the boot device using Ghost Boot Wizard
1) Run the Ghost Boot Wizard.
2) Select WinPE as PreOS, make sure that all necessary drivers are present (For how to add a driver, consult the following article: http://service1.symantec.com/support/on-technology.nsf/docid/2008050916132860) and click Next.
3) Select Standard Ghost Boot Disk and click Next.
4) In the Client Type window you may enter your login credentials if you want to join the domain or to map a network drive and click Next.
5) Choose DHCP or Static IP under the Network Client Address, and click Next
6) In the Destination Drive window, choose the media you want to boot from, for example CD/DVD or USB, and click on Next.
7) Optionally you may choose to add extra files to your bootable media, click Next.
8) Click Next in the Review Window.
Now the Ghost Boot Wizard will start creating the bootable device based on the entries made before.
