This article describes how to uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection for Mac.
The uninstaller files can be found within the product download (or on the physical disc) within the SEP_MAC folder. In earlier versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection, within the SEP_MAC folder, there is only a single file, SymantecUninstaller.English.tgz, which contains both the app and pkg.
- Symantec Uninstaller: this is the actual product uninstaller app.
- SymantecUninstaller.pkg: this is an installer package to install the Symantec Uninstaller onto the client machine.

To uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection for Mac
- Copy the file SymantecUninstaller.app.tgz to the Mac client computer.
- Double-click to extract the archive file.
- Double-click on the Symantec Uninstaller, select Symantec Endpoint Protection, and click Uninstall.
- Authenticate with your administrative password when prompted.
To install the Symantec Uninstaller
- Copy the file SymantecUninstaller.pkg.tgz to the Mac client computer.
- Double-click to extract the archive file.
- Double-click SymantecUninstaller.pkg and follow the prompts.
- Authenticate with your administrative password when prompted.
The Uninstaller is placed in the folder /Applications/Symantec Solutions.
