Replacing a Control Compliance Suite (CCS) 9.0.1 single setup server (Active Directory Domain Controller, RMS, Directory Server Service, Application Server, DPS - Data Collection, Data Evaluation, Reporting and Load Balancer)
This procedure assumes the following requirements:
Three servers available for the following:
Current CCS 9.0.1 Server (Active Directory DC, RMS, Directory Server Service, Application Server, DPS - Data Collection, Data Evaluation, Reporting and Load Balancer) - Server A
New CCS 10.5 Server (Active Directory DC, RMS, Directory Server Service, Application Server, DPS - Data Collection, Data Evaluation, Reporting and Load Balancer) - Server B
Existing SQL Server instance - Server C
The SQL Server must be configured for Windows authentication.
NOTE: The same SQL Server instance will be used but the database names can be different.
Install a second Domain Controller on the new server (Server B) according to Microsoft's recommendations and promote it to Primary Domain Controller. For information on completing this step please see the following document: Creating an additional domain controller. This will retain the the same users in the domain and on the SQL Server.
Uninstall the CCS 9.0.1, including the RMS and the databases on the SQL Server (Note: all historical data will be lost).
Uninstall the Domain Controller from Server A (the original server )and remove the server from the domain.
Install RMS and CCS 10.5 On the new server (Server B) , specifying the existing SQL Server instance (Server C) for the new databases. If needed , the database names may be changed according to product installation guide.
