When doing an Inventory of Machine Groups the Windows 7 machines show in the Windows 7 - All Versions and in the Inventory not Collected or Incomplete Support. When checked the inventory appears to be correct and complete.
WMI Setting Build Version for Windows 7 is not included in the Inventory Filter.
The Inventory Filter needs to be updated with the current values of the WMI Setting - Build Version.
This is how you can edit and modify the Inventory Filter:
Right Click on the Inventory not Collected or Incomplete Support and select Properties
In the Properties for Inventory not Collected or Incomplete Support you will see the Filter Name "Needs at Least WMI Core 1.5". Click the Browse button to the right.
At this time you will be on the Select Filter box. You should see the WMI and under that you will see "Needs at Least WMI Core 1.5".
Highlight and Right-Click on this filter. Select Properties.
Now you are on this Inventory Filter. You will see four columns of information on the filter. The Value column corresponds to the operating system and the service pack that is on a client machine. For instance the Value 6000 corresponds to Vista and the Value 6001 corresponds to Vista Service Pack 1. There are no Values that correspond to either Win7 or Win7 SP1. These need to be added.
One way to determine what the value needed can be found by going to the client machine in question and from a Run Line running the command MSINFO32.EXE (this can be run on 64 but machines as well as 32 bit machines). This will bring up a System Information Report. On the System Summary page you will see under the Item column the Version and to the right under Value you will see the Build. This will show you the Value that will need to be put into the Inventory Filter. For instance 7600 is the value for Win7 and 7601 ins the value for Win7sp1.
Back to the Inventory Filter click on the Add button. This will bring up the Filter Condition. On the Collected Data Sets you will find "WMI Setting". When you click on this it should highlight and show the Collected Properties on the right. Highlight the BuildVersion under the Display Name. Then go to the button called Restriction. Change it from = to Contains. Then put in the value for the client machine. So for Win7 put in 7600. The on the button named :Link with previous condition:" change that from AND to OR. Then click on the OK button. Your entry will now be showing in the Inventory Filter. You can do the same for the Win7sp1 with the value of 7601.
Once you have this filter modified the items in the Inventory not Collected or Incomplete Support should no longer be seen.
