Issue/Introduction

After completing the configuration of the schemus tool the instruction provided will allow you to run the process automatically using task scheduler on the machine.

Resolution

To set up a synchronization schedule

  1. In the Run at field, enter the time you want the process to run, or select the part of the time you want to change and use the arrows.

  2. Enter details for how often you want to run the process. You can select months, weeks, days, or hours from the drop-down list.

  3. Select whether to run the process on any day within your chosen schedule, or on specific days.

  4. If you are running the process on specific days, do one of the following:

    • Check the Day of Month box and then click the date(s) on which to run the process.

    • Check the Day of Week box and then click the day(s) on which to run the process.

    • Check both the Day of Month and Day of Week boxes and then click the date(s) and day(s) you want.

  5. Note: The synchronization process runs on all days and dates you select. For example, you can run the process each Friday, and on the 30th of each month.

  6. Click Schedule. The calendar icon changes from grey to color to show that the synchronization is scheduled.

  7. On Microsoft Windows systems, you have the opportunity to enter a user name and password the first time a synchronization is scheduled. You should enter the details of the account under which the application is to run when scheduled. The details are required by the operating system's Task Scheduler and are not retained by the Schemus Synchronizer. If you do not enter account details, the scheduled task will be invoked under the local system administrator account, which may not have the required privileges to perform the synchronization. The schedule, including account details, can also be edited from the operating system's Task Scheduler.

  8. On Unix systems, the schedule is created using the crontab of the account under which is running. Ensure that this is the account under which the scheduled operation is to run and that the account has permission to use the crontab command.

To remove a synchronization schedule

Click Clear. The calendar icon is greyed to show that the synchronization is no longer scheduled.
