Issue/Introduction

In ICSP Neural 6.1.x and ICSP 5.4.x, an enhancement has been made to support Secure Boot on Windows 10 and later platforms. This signing enhancement may cause ICSP 6.1.x and 5.4.x driver installation issues on the following known platforms:

  • Windows XP SP2
  • Windows 7 (without Service Pack)

If you face any ICSP driver installation issues on the above-referenced platforms, see the Solution section in this article.

Resolution

  1. Download the ICSP driver package from your scanner station.
The downloaded Symantec ICS Protection folder contains the following two .msi files and the public key:
    • ICSProtection_x64
    • ICSProtection_x86
    • public_key
  2. Depending on your ICSP version, download the corresponding compressed Symantec ICS Protection folder attached in this article.
    • If your ICSP version is 6.1.x, download the Symantec ICS Protection.zip folder corresponding to Compressed Symantec ICSP 6.1.x driver files in the Related Attachments section of this article.
    • If your ICSP version is 5.4.x, download the Symantec ICS Protection.zip folder corresponding to Compressed Symantec ICSP 5.4.x driver files in the Related Attachments section of this article.
  3. Extract the files from the compressed Symantec ICS Protection folder. The available extracted .msi files are as follows:
    • ICSProtection_x64
    • ICSProtection_x86
  4. Copy the extracted files.
  5. Navigate to the location where you have stored the ICSP Neural 6.1.x or ICSP 5.4.x driver package and replace the existing ICSProtection_x64 and  ICSProtection_x86 files with the copied files.
Important: Ensure that the existing public_key file of the ICSP driver package is available.
  6. Install the ICSP driver on the Windows XP SP2 or Windows 7 (without Service Pack) platform.
