During the Database Setup in the Wise Repository Manager, the different setups remain at pending after clicking Run, Run All, or Upgrade. How do I force the install?
Are Terminal Services being used to install/upgrade WPS? If so, this may be what is causing the actions not to complete. Currently, Symantec does not support the use of Terminal Services to install Wise Package Studio, but some customers have been successful getting their upgrade to complete by following the steps below.
Two issues that cause the upgrade not to complete are that the service used to upgrade the databases may not start through Terminal Services, and Terminal Service does not refresh as it is running through the upgrade.
Follow these steps to upgrade WPS using Terminal Services:
1. Access the Wise Repository Manager through the Wise shortcut. 2. Select the Upgrade icon at the top of the Wise Repository Manager window. This starts the service and the upgrade process. 3. Allow the upgrade some time to process the upgrade. 4. To check on the upgrade process, first close then reopen the Wise Repository Manager.
If the Terminal Services is not part of the process, proceed with the following solution.
In the Wise Repository Manager:
Workbench Database and Software Manager
Click on Upgrade to Baseline and copy the script found under the Details section on the right side of screen.
Launch SQL Query Analyzer.
If not already connected, you may be prompted for server. Select the server of the database.
Then paste the SQL script in the white space and select the appropriate database from the drop-down list right above the white space.
Click the green arrow to run.
In some parts of the Software Manager Database, there is no SQL Script available. You will need to run a command line to force the installation:
