You have a Symantec Brightmail AntiSpam software product or a Symantec Mail Security appliance. You experience high CPU utilization or a slow down in the processing of messages.

If conduit.exe causes the CPU utilization to spike into high numbers (70-90%) intermittently every 5 minutes to 10 minutes. This spike may be due to the download and update of Brightmail rule sets by conduit.exe. The rule sets keep your system up to date and spam free. This spike to CPU is expected behavior of the product.
