This document describes best practices for the memory management in Microsoft SQL Server.
For performance reasons, Symantec recommends that you leave the default SQL Server setting to allow the server to dynamically change its memory requirements based on available system resources.
If you need to change the max server memory for SQL Server, follow the instructions provided by Microsoft: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178067.aspx.
