Symantec Mobility: Suite Mobile Device Management (MDM) lets you manage and monitor the devices that are enrolled in your Symantec Mobility environment. MDM tasks include creating and assigning MDM policies, issuing device commands, locating lost or stolen devices, monitoring device inventories and generating reports to help you understand the state of your Symantec Mobility MDM ecosystem.
When you select multiple devices, the commands that are available appear in the Commands list. The Disassociate from user command and Selective Wipe command are always available. If you have a Norton Mobile Security license, the related NMS commands also appear.
You must answer a simple mathematical problem (for example, 1 x 6) and click OK to issue a command to multiple devices. Mobility Suite requires this security check to ensure that you intentionally want to issue the command.
Several factors affect how long it takes for commands to reach devices, so don't expect devices to receive commands immediately. Commands are executed based on the system load. When MDM is enabled, Mobility Suite relies on platform-specific push notification services. And iOS devices receive commands upon their next regularly scheduled check-in. Device policies control those check-in times.
