Symantec Mobility: Suite lets you use an identity provider (IDP) to add and authenticate users to Mobility Suite. Mobility Suite can handle group management through the local IDP or you can manage groups through the external IDP. All IDPs (local and external) provide access to the Mobility Manager, the End-User Portal, the Work Hub, and any wrapped apps that require authentication. IDPs not only provide authentication, they also provide for application single sign-on.

By default, Symantec Mobility: Suite provides a simple, local IDP that you can use for authentication. The local IDP is easy to use, requires no integration, and is ideal for small user environments or trials.
A user's email address should only appear in one IDP at a time. For example, if you have the same user's email address in the local IDP and Active Directory, the user may have problems authenticating. For more information, refer to the following knowledge base article:
