Issue/Introduction

The Control Center displays the message "An error was encountered while trying to email your report. Please check the system configuration and try again." when it fails to email a report to the specified recipient.

Following error message is seen in the Control Center:

'An error was encountered while trying to email your report. Please check the system configuration and try again.'

Following message is logged in BrightmailLog.log:

WARN - An error was encountered while trying to email your report.  Please check the system configuration and try again.  com.brightmail.service.mail.MailTransportException: Cannot release mail, cannot connect to any available MTA service. 

Resolution

Please note that various emails from Control Center, including Scheduled Reports, Admin Alerts, etc., are sent using the Control Center SMTP Settings (Administration > Control Center > SMTP).  For these emails to be delivered successfully, it is best to configure the SMTP host (using "Define new host" option) that is able to accept all emails from the Control Center and deliver them to the desired destination.  Also ensure that the Control Center is allowed to connect to the SMTP host through the firewall, if any.
