There have been reports of problems where the image restore fails on SSD drives using Ghost 12.0.0.x code based executables.
The Ghosterr.txt might have information similar to the following.
Error Number: 8027
Message: A GeneralException occurred
Ghost 12.0.0.x tries to TRIM the SSD drive during the restore process. Ghost 11.5.1.x does not use the TRIM command and there have been no reported issues when cloning SSD drives.
Note: A Trim command (commonly typeset as TRIM) allows an operating system to inform a solid-state drive (SSD) which blocks of data are no longer considered in use and can be wiped internally.
The solution is to use the -NOTRIM switch with the Ghost executable.
One specific case, Ghost was failing to do a partition restore to a Samung 850 SSD, giving the error noted above. A full disk restore was successful, however. Build 12.0.0.8003 (from GSS 3.0 early build) resolved the issue with the partition restore.
