Issue/Introduction

BlueCoat has an ICAP extension that instead of receiving the entire object back from the ICAP Client it would only receive a 204 message, which would mean “no modification to the object made” and would allow the proxy to pass the object.

Resolution

If DLP web Prevent receives an “Allow: 204” in the ICAP request and the request does not need any modification, then Prevent does respond with “ICAP/1.0 204 No Content” and does not send the entire ICAP object back to the proxy.
