Microsoft has formally announced that Windows Server 2003 will reach End of Support on July 14th, 2015. What does this mean for Symantec Endpoint Protection?

Symantec is committed to providing the best possible security for its customers. Even as Microsoft stops publishing new functionality and security updates for Server 2003, Symantec will continue to release 32-bit and 64-bit definition sets that are compatible across all 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms supported by the product.

Current releases of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12.1 support Server 2003, and continued maintenance and feature releases in the foreseeable future are planned to include support. Symantec will continue to release antivirus definitions and product updates compatible with Server 2003 for the current product cycle.

Depending on security demands and development, future versions of SEP may drop support for retired operating systems. As always, Symantec will provide explicit system requirements in the documentation for every product update we release.
