SymRoot1 root certificate to expire on April 30, 2011
Last Updated February 24, 2011
An older Symantec root certificate, SymRoot1, will expire on April 30, 2011. With an expired certificate, older LiveUpdate clients would no longer authenticate, download, or install content such as AntiVirus definitions or product updates.
A maintenance patch for Security Information Manager will be released in the near future to address the SymRoot1 issue. To receive notification when the patch is released, click the "Subscribe: Email" link in the upper right corner of the Security Information Manager Alerts page.
