Symantec™ Critical System Protection 8.0.0 Release Announcement and Documentation

Symantec announces the general availability of Symantec Critical System Protection (CSP) version 8.0.0 on October 1st, 2018. Version 8.0.0 contains new features, and enhancements.
CSP Web Console: CSP now provides you with an intuitive and modern web-based management console (CSP Web console). The CSP Web console is compatible with the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Chrome, and Firefox. Use the CSP Web console to perform the following actions:
View and manage the Streamlined Whitelisting Prevention policy and the Windows Null policy.
Manage the CSP 8.0 agents on which you have applied the Streamlined Whitelisting Prevention policy.
Manage alerts and events.
Manage the CSP settings and configurations.
CSP continues to support the management console. Based on your requirements, you can now choose to use either the new Web console, or the management console, or both.
Streamlined Application Whitelisting Policy: The new Streamlined Application Whitelisting Policy saves your valuable time by significantly reducing the number of decision points on policy configuration yet providing the utmost level of protection to your devices. The policy includes a new set of anti-exploit techniques along with system hardening, network firewall, and USB whitelisting. Use the Streamlined Application Whitelisting Policy to perform the following actions:
Whitelist applications, directories, publishers, users, groups, USB devices.
Use new and enhanced anti-exploit techniques to protect your operating system and applications from exploits and attacks.
Lock down OS's, applications, and databases; prevent unauthorized executables from being introduced or run on your system with System Hardening.
Use the simplified CSP firewall settings to control application access to or from a network. You can configure the CSP firewall for Windows kernel, startup programs, and other Windows programs and services.
Secure boot compatibility: CSP 8.0.0 running on Windows platforms is compliant with Secure Boot standards.
MOPS compliance: CSP is certified as Ministry of Public Security (MOPS) compliant.
