Enhancements made in the release
The enhancements made in version 5.4.2 of the Symantec ICSP product are as follows:
Definition file updates enhancement: In 5.4.2, the default frequency of the automatic download of the ICSP malware cleaner definition file updates has been changed from 15 minutes to 1 hour to ensure optimized utilization of your network bandwidth. The setting to manage the automatic download of the malware cleaner definition file updates has been renamed from Enable definition File update to Enable definition file updates for offline malware cleaner. For more information, see the Configuring the Symantec ICSP software updates topic on the attached PDF and the ICSP online Help.
Secure boot compatibility: Starting from version 5.4.2, the ICSP driver running on Windows platforms is compliant with Secure Boot standards.
NTP server support: In ICSP 5.4.0, the feature to configure an NTP server to set the ICSP system time was not functional. In 5.4.2, this issue has been resolved. You can now configure an NTP server to set the ICSP system time. For more information, see the Configuring the Symantec ICSP system time topic on the attached PDF and the ICSP online Help.
Additionally, ICSP 5.4.2 resolves important defects which significantly improve scanning performance, and the overall quality of the product.
Note: In ICSP version 5.4.2, the ICSP driver is not supported on the Windows XP SP2 and Windows Embedded XP SP2 platforms. This is a known issue.
