Initial testing performed by Symantec shows that a range of the Symantec IT Management Suite functionalities can be used to manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 client computers.
The scope of support is limited to specific components and solutions as indicated below as well as version 8.5 RU3 of the Symantec IT Management Suite. Additional limitations may apply. If so, they are listed under the Known limitations section.
Symantec will issue a Full Support statement once the full testing of the new operating systems is performed and all the known limitations are addressed.

Table: Known limitations for Symantec Management Platform infrastructure
Computer system is incorrectly detected because RHEL 8 uses new system role mechanism instead of system indication in the OS name such as RHEL Server/Workstation/Desktop. New system roles:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Compute Node
Starting from 8.0, the following collections represent computers with different roles:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (Server role)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (Compute Node role)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (Workstation role)
Note: If the role is unset, the computer system is detected as server by default.
Workaround: To check the current system role of a RHEL 8 computer, run the command: "subscription-manager role"
