Symantec Mobility: Suite sends notifications to users when new applications or updates are available. For most devices, notifications are delivered from Mobility Suite to the mobile device through the OS's notification service: Google GCM for Android devices or Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) for iOS devices.
Android push notifications
Mobility Suite configures itself to communicate with Google GCM and uses a site-wide account and self-signed certificates. The GCM account is embedded in the Android Work Hub too.
iOS push notifications
Mobility Suite does not automatically configure itself to communicate with Apple APNS. APNS requires special certificates to enable communication from Mobility Suite to the user's device through APNS.
APNS certificates are created at the Apple Developer Provisioning Portal (http://developer.apple.com). You typically create the APNS "push" certificate when you create the mobile provisioning files for the iOS version of the Work Hub (the mobile client).
