You seek to re-image Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response (SEDR) or Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) appliance model 8880 or appliance model 8840 by mapping an ISO file as a network drive via iDRAC.
Before you begin:
Mapping an iso file as a network drive within iDRAC 7 or later requires that the iDRAC already be configured with an IP address.
Also, because this install method transmits the installation material across a network connection, slow networking conditions may slow the installation process as a whole.
This procedure is not for the Virtual Edition of SEDR or ATP
Log into the iDRAC user interface (UI).
In the Virtual Console preview section, click Launch.
If a dialog box warning of a self-signed certificate appears, click Run
In the Virtual Console, on the Virtual Media tab, click Connect Virtual Media.
On the Virtual Media tab, click Map CD/DVD. A new dialog box with the title "Virtual Media - Map CD/DVD" appears.
In the "Virtual Media - Map CD/DVD" dialog box, click "Browse".
Navigate to the ISO for Advanced Threat Protection: Network. Click on the ISO, then click the "Select" button.
In the "Drive/Image file:" field, double-check the filename to make sure you're about to map the correct ISO.
Click the "Map Device" button.
Click the 'Next Boot' menu and choose 'Virtual CD/DVD/ISO' so the appliance automatically boots from this image
On the Power tab, click "Reset system (warm boot)".
Once the appliance gets past POST, you will see the Advanced Threat Protection menu, choose 'Install or upgrade an existing system' to perform an osrestore. Note: If you do not see the Advanced Threat Protection menu you may need to restart the appliance and open the BIOS startup settings to make sure CD/DVD/ISO bootup is enabled.
After completing the installation, on the Virtual Media tab, click ISONAME.ISO Mapped to CD/DVD , where ISONAME.ISO is the name of the iso you mapped.
In the Unmap Drive Requested dialog box, click Yes.
On the Virtual Media tab, click Disconnect Virtual Media.
