Managing your software license compliance using Symantec Management Console enhanced views
Symantec Management Console enhanced views let you manage software license compliance in your environment with a few easy steps.
If you only install Asset Management Suite, the Symantec Management Console enhanced views are not installed. The enhanced views are only available when you install IT Management Suite or Client Management Suite.
To manage software license compliance using Symantec Management Console enhanced views
Gather software inventory.
To gather software inventory, you must have the Inventory Solution installed on your Notification Server and the Inventory plug-in installed on your client computers.
In the Symantec Management Console, on the Manage menu, click Software.
In the Newly Discovered Software list, click the name of the discovered software.
In the right pane, click Manage this software.
In the Software Product dialog box, on the Identify inventory tab, validate the filter rules to make sure that the appropriate software components are associated.
In the Software Product dialog box, on the Licenses tab, check Licensable product, and then click Add License Purchase.
In the Add License Purchase dialog box, enter software license and software purchase information, and then click Add.
In the Add Software Product dialog box, click OK.
After you save a software product with its associated software purchase and software license information, the options to see and edit the full records of software license and software purchase within the Asset Management Suite pages become available.
