How can an existing SQL database be moved to a different server?
Step 1: Install SQL on the new server.
Step 2: Use the SQL Server Management Studio, run the 'Copy Database Wizard' to copy the database to the new server.
Right click on the database name and select 'Tasks' | Copy Database.
Step 3: On the computer that will be accessing the new SQL database, set ODBC to point to the new SQL server.
Click on Start | Admin Tools | Data Sources (ODBC) | System DSN | Which SQL Server do you want to connect to? | Specify the new server by name.
Step 4: When appropriate, restart the services for the Symantec application that will be using the new SQL server.
