Product version: All versions of Symantec Mail Security and Symantec Messaging Gateway.
Cause: The qdbm library returned an error when attempting to open the ipfreq.db database. The ipfreq.db database stores information about the quality of mail from IP addresses processed by Symantec Messaging Gateway.
Resolution: If this error occurs, Symantec Messaging Gateway automatically attempts the following:
Checks for corruption in the ipfreq.db database and runs a repair utility if corruption is detected.
If the repair utility fails, the ipfreq.db database is deleted.
If this error continues to occur, delete the ipfreq.db database manually.
To delete the ipfreq.db database manually
Log into an appliance using an SSH client or log in at the console.
Type the following command:
