In some configurations, the caching of Java Applets might cause the Symantec Protection Engine console to display very slowly or fail to display at all. To prevent this problem, you must clear the Java cache and disable the caching feature.
To clear the Java cache
In the Java Control Panel dialog box, on the General tab, click Settings.
Click View Applets.
Select all of the items in the table and click Delete.
Uncheck Enable Caching.
This step disables the Java caching feature.
Click OK until you have closed all of the Java Control Panel dialog boxes.
