Configuring clean upgrade installation options on Linux
The clean upgrade option uninstalls the previous version of Symantec Protection Engine and installs the version 7.0.
To configure clean upgrade installation options on Linux
Select the location to install Symantec Protection Engine, and then press Enter.
The default location is /opt/SYMCScan.
When you are prompted whether you want Symantec Protection Engine to run as root, select one of the following settings:
Symantec Protection Engine is installed to run as root.
Symantec Protection Engine is installed not to run as root. Default setting.
If you selected not to run Symantec Protection Engine as root, type the user account that you want to use.
The user account must already exist.
Specify the port number on which the Web-based console listens.
The default port number is 8004. If you change the port number, use a number that is greater than 1024 that is not in use by any other program or service. You can disable the console by typing 0. If you disable the console, you can configure Symantec Protection Engine by editing the configuration data XML file.
