Error message Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user error code 0x5 Error 15404 while running Data Synchronization Job
This message is thrown if the SQL Server service uses an account that does not have sufficient administrative credentials on the Windows domain.
In this situation, the xp_logininfo system stored procedure is run by using the security context of the SQL Server service.
Because the account does not have sufficient administrative credentials to enumerate the properties of the user in the domain, the xp_logininfo system stored procedure fails, and you receive the 8198 error.
To resolve this problem, change the startup account of the SQL Server service to a Windows domain account.
Either run the SQL service under a domain account or use SQL authentication.
SPC Application Server Service fails to restart if the IP address of the server that hosts SPC Enterprise gets changed.
This behavior is observed because the database connection string contains the old IP address of the data source. As a result, all database related operations are stopped.
To resolve this issue, go to <Installation_directory>:\Program Files\Symantec\Protection Center\Enterprise\Application Server and execute the Symantec.CSM.ConfigureServiceAccount.exe utility that is shipped with SPC Enterprise.
The Service Account Configuration wizard gets launched. Follow the wizard and specify the SQL Server hostname and connection credentials once again using this utility to overwrite the database connection string internally.
