A deviation percentage is displayed in the top-right corner of the panel. SPC Enterprise calculates the deviation of every data point from the target that you set from the Security Metrics Configuration page in the SPC Web console, and aggregates it. A red or green color indicates if the deviation is unfavorable or favorable, respectively, for the security posture of your business.
For the metric Endpoints Meeting Standards, a red or green color indicates the following:
Red: Current aggregate is below the target.
Green: Current aggregate above the target.
For all other metrics that are pre-shipped with SPC Enterprise, a red or green color indicates the following:
Red: Current aggregate is above the target.
Green: Current aggregate is the below target.
Deviation is a percentage value.
In case of a trend chart the deviation is calculated as :
[(Data Value 1 + Data Value 2 + … Data Value N) / Number of Data Values (N) ] - Target Value
The deviation value depends on the number of data points considered, as explained in formula above. Therefore, the deviation percentage that is calculated for a trend chart changes dynamically if the panel is maximized because the data sample size changes.
In case of a bar chart the deviation is calculated as :
[(Data Value 1 - Target Value) + (Data Value 2 - Target Value) + … (Data Value N - Target Value)] / Number of Bars(N)
