After you have specified IP addresses for your default gateway and DNS servers, specify the role for the appliance.

The roles that you can choose are as follows:
Control Center only
Scanner and Control Center

To set the role for the appliance
When you are prompted, choose one of the following roles for this appliance:
For Scanner only, when prompted, type the IP address of the Control Center that you intend to use to manage this Scanner.
When you are prompted, type one of the following responses:
The summary information is correct.
Product setup is complete and the appliance restarts. After the appliance restarts, you can register your appliance.

You return to the beginning of the process to make your changes.
