Configuring the purging settings for application metering data
Application metering is only available on Windows computers.
Application metering data is stored on metered computers and then sent to the CMDB. Over time, you may want to delete (purge) application metering data. You can purge metering events, reports, and summary data. You can also configure the settings that purge the data at configured time intervals.

To configure the purging settings for application metering data
In the Symantec Management Console, on the Settings menu, click .
In the left pane, under Settings, expand , and then click .
On the Application Metering Configuration page, you can do the following:
To purge events, check the box, type the number of days, and then click .
To purge reports, check the box, type the number of days, and then click .
To purge summary data, in the textbox, type the number of months, and then click .
To purge archives with summary data, check box, type the number of months, and then click .
Click .
To purge the application metering monthly summary data, you need to enable the Monthly summary data class.
Note that if this data class is not enabled, you get an error when running the monthly summary data purging task.
To enable the Monthly summary data class:
In the Symantec Management Console, on the Settings menu, click .
In the left pane, under Settings, expand Notification Server > Resource and Data Class Settings, and then click .
On the Resource History page, expand Application menetring, and then, under Data Class, check .
Click .
