Software Management Solution is installed from Symantec Installation Manager.
The Symantec Installation Manager (SIM) handles the installation and initial configuration of the Symantec Management Platform. This easy-to-use installation wizard verifies installation readiness and steps you through the product installation and configuration.
If you need to install or uninstall Software Management Solution after the initial platform installation, Symantec Installation Manager is available in the Symantec Management Console.
You or another administrator may have already performed this step when you configured security for the Symantec Management Platform.
Configure default settings for Managed Software Delivery.
You can configure the settings that control the behavior of Managed Software Delivery policies. Rather than configuring these settings individually for each policy, you can configure the default settings that apply to all new Managed Software Delivery policies.
The Software Portal is installed on the Notification Server computer when Software Management Solution is installed. If you plan to use the Software Portal, you must perform additional implementation steps.
