You can use the scan window to schedule scans. However, you might need to temporarily discontinue a scan on individual guest virtual machines or on a security group if you choose to.
In the case of a scan storm or a SAN degradation, you might want to cancel all the scans that are running in the datacenter. The Cancel All Scans feature lets you cancel all the scheduled as well as manual scans from the datacenter. When you initiate a cancelation, all the scans that are currently running get canceled. After all scans are canceled, new scans are not scheduled till the next scan window is open. If the current window for the scheduled scans is the entire weekend, and the next scan window is not available until the next weekend, scheduled scans do not run again until the next weekend
Scheduled scans can also be manually disabled in the SVA configuration policy.
To cancel scans
In the Management Console, click the Assets tab.
On the Assets page, click the Malware Protection tab.
From the Guest VM View on the left pane, right-click on a security group or a guest virtual machine, and click Cancel All Scans to discontinue any scans that might be running.
