The NS7 hardware inventory agent on UNIX, Linux and Mac platforms utilizes the pci.ids and usb.ids files, which are text files that contain the lists of pci and usb device codes, model names and vendors. Hardware inventory will look up this information based on the device codes. If inventory solution is not reporting this data correctly, it could be due to outdated pci.ids and usb.ids files.
