Question How many 32-bit Deployment Solution consoles can I have active at once?
Answer There are a lot of factors that affect this and should be considered. One is how many connections your SQL server can have active. By far the biggest factor is the utilization of the remote consoles: How much usage do you expect? Typically, having 5-7 remote consoles does not present a problem. If those consoles are receiving heavy usage, with lots of jobs being submitted and other console activity, anything above that will likely start to have problems such as SQL deadlocks. However, if the utilization is light, double that number of consoles might have little or no problem. It is really going to depend upon your environment and the amount of activity per console.
If you need more consoles, using Web console can alleviate a lot of the issues mentioned. Web Console does not offer the full funcionality of the 32-bit console but if you have many users that need console access, it may provide the functionality that they need.
