In Symantec Endpoint Encryption 8.2.1 and earlier versions of the software you can click Recover in the tabular reports in Symantec Endpoint Encryption Management Server to export the .dat recovery file from a selected client computer. This file can then be used as a means to recovery a failed computer, which has been encrypted. This feature is not included in Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11 clients.
