Issue/Introduction

Do we have a way in the SMP Console to know if a certificate is going to expire?

Environment

ITMS 8.5, 8.6, 8.7

Resolution

Starting with ITMS 8.1 RU7, there is an alert that should notify customers that there is a certificate about to expire:

"The notification in the upper right corner of the Symantec Management Console now displays notifications for certificates that will expire in 60 days.
These notifications are displayed only to the Administrator role."

This new certificate expiration alert should be displayed for:

  • NS root certificate
  • Site server root certificate
  • NS website certificate
  • SMA local proxy certificate

By default, an alert will show a certificate that will expire in 60 days. (This can be changed with the core setting option of  "CertificateExpirationWarningDays")
As well this certificate check is executed by schedule: NS.CEM Certificate Synchronization Schedule.{14a2f14d-22bd-4ed3-b6df-eaaa8f56cb48} (5:00 AM every Sunday of every week)
