Client Manager (ProxySG 6.6.3 and later) — UnifiedAgent-175128.car
When ProxySG 6.6.3 is released, Unified Agent 4.6.2 and 4.6.1 will support deployment from a ProxySG that has been designated a Client Manager. Until then, you can install Unified Agent 4.6.2 with either group-policy management or manually, from an administrator-elevated command line interface, as described in Chapter 2 of the Unified Agent 4.6.x Deployment and Administration Guide for OSX or for Windows.
No new features have been added.
Agents had failed to upload logs when web filtering was disabled by location awareness.
HTTPS filtering could be bypassed when the client device used a browser with SSLv2 and TLSv1.0 enabled. Now, a request that does not have an SNI header will be considered suspicious, the request will be dropped, the user notified, and the event logged. Client devices will need to upgrade to a recent browser version to avoid this issue in the future.
User alterations to UnifiedAgentConfig.xml were not being detected. With the fix in this version the behavior is as follows:
When a user alters UnifiedAgentConfi.xml and Unified Agent 4.6.2 detects it, Unified Agent rejects that file and retrieves a backup copy of the config file. If the backup copy has been altered by the user, Unified Agent rejects that file and attempts to download a new version of the config file from the Client Manager.
If Unified Agent cannot connect to the Client Manager, the default action is applied from memory, as specified by the Web Filtering policy on Configuration > Clients > Web Filtering > Policy.
If the default action is not available, Unified Agent 4.6.2 will “fail open”; that is, all HTTP(S) requests will be allowed until Unified Agent is able to reconnect with the Client Manager. For more information, see SA102 on bto.bluecoat.com/security-advisories.
Other minor bug fixes.
Because of the security patches that are included in Unified Agent 4.6.2, it is recommended that all Unified Agent devices be upgraded to this new version.
The Unified Agent Deployment and Administration Guides are available on BTO. Click the Documentation tab and select Unified Agent from the Product list.
Binary management of the Unified Agent from a Client Manager will be supported beginning with ProxySG 6.6.3.
If ProxyClient is present on a system, it must be uninstalled; Unified Agent cannot be used as an upgrade for ProxyClient.
When HTTPS filtering is enabled on the Client Manager, both Block and Warn actions trigger a notification but do not show the block page in the browser.
Unified Agent must be configured as a trusted application in ZoneAlarm.
Unified Agent must be configured as a trusted application in Kaspersky Internet Security.
