Blue Coat Systems, Inc. announces a Notice of Status Change for PacketShaper 7500 (PS7500) and PacketShaper 12000 (PS12000). The changes for the PS7500 and PS12000 are as follows:
The End of Life date for both product platforms is August 31st, 2018
Customers will have until August 31st, 2017 to purchase 1 Year Support Contracts.
The recommended replacement product for the PS7500 is the PacketShaper S200, and for the PS12000 are the PacketShaper S400/S500 based on bandwidth requirements. See table for Recommended Upgrade Paths for specific models detailed later in this document.
Customers will have the opportunity to purchase the PS7500 and PS12000 while supplies last. The estimated end of sale is 3 to 6 months from this announcement, but the timing could be shorter or longer than anticipated, based on customer purchases.
Blue Coat is implementing a two-year time frame, from EOL announcement to EOL Date, on the PS7500 and PS12000 because they have been in the market since September 2006 (PS7500) and 2010 (PS12000), and are reaching their wear out period. Customers who have very recently purchased PS7500 or PS12000 appliances, and are concerned about the shorter EOS to EOL period, should contact their Blue Coat sales representative or authorized Blue Coat channel partner.
