You can verify communication with gateways.dis.symantec.com through your Web browser. Quarantine server connects to the Digital Immune System (DIS) using port 2847 (HTTP), and port 2848 (HTTPS).
Note: You cannot test connectivity by using the ping command.

If the connection is successful, the browser is redirected automatically to the Security Response home page. If you cannot connect to both ports, verify that the ports are not being blocked by your firewall. It is very common for the ports used by Central Quarantine Servers (CQS) to be blocked by a corporate firewall.
