What are the required configurations for installing the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager with SQL Server 2005?
The following is a checklist and general outline of configurations to make as they are encountered during a typical Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) and SQL 2005 server installation process.

These steps are provided as a convenience. They may or may not reflect the current procedures from Microsoft for installing IIS and the SQL components. For current instructions, please contact Microsoft.
Step 1: Install Internet Information Services:

Note: If the SQL Server is on a separate server, then you must install the SQL Server 2005 Client components on the SEPM server. If the SQL server is on the same system as SEPM, skip this step.

Step 3: Installing SQL 2005 Server:

Update SQL Server 2005 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2
Download SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 from this location:
During the installation, in the Authentication window choose 'SQL Authentication'. Use the test available to verify that you have entered the sa password correctly by clicking on the button Test.
