You are adding drivers to WinPE or opening the console and you get error: "WIM file for this configuration of windows PE is invalid."
The WinPE WIM file has become damaged.
First, try using a different WinPE driver list. By default in the Ghost Boot Wizard, there are two driver lists, WinPE and WinPE-512. If you get an error using one of them, try the other. If you have a copy of one of the lists, try that as well. If that does not help, then proceed as follows. If one of the lists is bad, remove it from the Boot Wizard. Select the bad list and click on
You may be able to replace the Widows PE files on your Ghost Server by copying a clean set of Windows PE files from a different computer where you've installed Ghost:
Note: If you have created a custom copy of Windows PE for use as the Ghost Console Virtual Partition for your client machines, following the steps below will remove those custom copies of Windows PE. Additionally, if you added new device drivers to the corrupt copy of Windows PE, those device drivers will be removed as part of this process.
If the conditions above are applicable to you, be aware of the following:
Any required device driver added to the now corrupt copy of Windows PE would need to be re-added for use with Ghost after you've replaced the Template folder.
If your Console Clients are using a customized copy of Windows PE for the virtual partition Pre-OS, you may need to reassign the Pre-OS after you've replaced the Template folder.
