KNOWN ISSUE: After installing R12 the "Collection Selector" doesn't show the Collections that are selected in the tree.
Last Updated January 09, 2010
After installing R12 (KB46763), the 'Collection Selector' no longer browse through the selected Collections in the tree for Inclusions or Exclusions.
Steps to duplicate issue:
1. In the Altiris Console, go to Resources > Resource Managemen t> Collection
2. Choose a collection which you can edit manually.
Select pencil to edit Collection
dd a "Exclusions" or "Inclusion". Save. 5. Open again the "Collection Selector" to review the Collection that was included/excluded.
5. With R12, "
Collection Selector" appears and looks like this:
With R11, the “Collection Selector” looks like this:
Tree is expanded where a collection is selected.
Known Issue. The default behaviour of the collection picker in R11 was that it would show all things currently selected by expanding their trees. In R12 this is not the case. Now the collection picker comes up with all trees unexpanded, which makes it hard to find objects, especially if they are nested several levels deep.
This issue has been reported to Symantec Development team. A permanent fix will be provided in a future release.
Currently there is a workaround that should fix the issue. Please see the attached file (dlgCollectionPicker.zip) on this KB.
These are the steps to follow: 1. Go to ..\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Admin\Configuration and make a copy of the current dlgCollectionPicker.aspx (you may just rename the file to something like dlgCollectionPicker-R12.aspx ) 2. Place the attached fixed version of the dlgCollectionPicker.aspx file in the same directory where the original one was located. 3. You will also need to restart the IIS service and the Altiris services.
