Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange uses scheduled tasks in the Windows task scheduler to call LiveUpdate to update virus definitions. Under current configuration, if the scheduled task reports a result of '0x4' Symantec Mail Security will generate an email notification. Symantec has found that this status code is an unreliable indicator of a truly failed LiveUpdate session.
