Issue/Introduction

Error when running a MSSQL check on a Windows CCS agent:

Symptoms
Error "\[DBNETLIB\]\ [ConnectionOpen (Connect ().\] SQL Server does not exist or access denied. "

Environment

CCS 12.5.x and 12.6

Resolution

This error can occur in one of the following scenarios

  • The MSSQL server that is being scanned is an old version no longer supported by CCS.
  • The firewall is enabled on the agent.
  • Remote access is not configured on the SQL Server.
  • The credential user does not have the required privileges to connect to the target server.

Check to see if any of the above-mentioned exist, and make any necessary changes for the agent to be able to scan the MSSQL database.
