Clients using Broadcom Teaming software Blue Screen with Bugcheck 0xD1
Last Updated March 02, 2011
When rebooting after a Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client Release Update 6 (RU6) or later installation/upgrade, systems with Broadcom Teamed Network Interface Cards (NICs) immediately reboot, or display a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error with a bugcheck of 0xD1.
Blue screen with bugcheck/stop code 0xD1 during boot up.
This issue occurs when Symantec's Network Threat Protection driver provides packet information to the Broadcom Team driver that contains NULL data that the Broadcom Team driver is not capable of handling. This causes the Broadcom Team driver to crash the system.
A fix for this issue has been included in SEP 11 RU6-MP2.
