I am managing SMSMSE via a server group in the console, and would like to generate a report that includes statistics from all servers in the group. How do I do this?
To generate multiserver reports, you must first set up consolidation of statistics. Note that your reports will only include statistics that were generated after consolidation was configured.
To configure consildation of report data:
Specify the shared location to store reports | Mail Security lets you specify where you want each server to store the reports for consolidation. The location must be the same for each server in the group. You must ensure that the full directory path exists on each server. For example, if you specify a directory path of \Program Files\Symantec\7.0\My Reports, ensure that each server contains this full directory path. You must also ensure that the path location has permission to allow read/write access. |
Grant access for the Symantec Mail Security Utility service to access the shared storage location | The Symantec Mail Security Utility service must be able to access the shared storage location. Configure the service to run in an account that is a member of the local system Administrators and Domain Users groups and has access to the shared storage location. |
To specify the shared location to store reports :
The path must be less than 256 characters. The following characters are not supported in the path name: ~'!@#%^&*( )+=|?;:"[]{}
To grant access for the Symantec Mail Security Utility service to access the shared storage location:
After completing these steps, SMSMSE will now be able to use the specified shared storage location for statistics consolidation.
To generate a consolidated report:
Note: You must be in a group view in the SMSMSE console to generate a consolidated report.
The report will now be available under the Reports view in the server group
